Veterans Business Info Fair & Car/Bike Show
Everyone is invited on Saturday, May 24, to visit McLaughlin Park in downtown Raeford, from 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., to learn more about Veteran-owned businesses in a free, family-friendly event.
It’s the second annual Vets4Vets Veteran’s Business Info Fair & Car/Bike Show, but there’s more to this special Hoke County event than networking and street machines. Food trucks will be on hand and it’s a chance for those who served—along with the loved ones who supported that dedication to this great nation—to connect and learn more about the area’s resources and groups.
There is no charge. Bring the entire family if you’re not braving what is expected to be record-breaking traffic over the Memorial Day Weekend. Doing so supports local companies and it’s a chance to meet neighbors. There are no special “rides” during the event, but McLaughlin Park is already ideal for the kids, offering plenty of shade, paved pathways, picnic tables for lunchtime convenience and a generous play area.
Any business—even those not owned by the veteran—interested in showcasing their wares and services can contact John Harry by phoning (910) 987-9821. If you take pride in that special ride and are ready to let others get a glimpse, call Dan Nocher at (910) 527-6667.
More details are available on the Vets4Vets and Community Hoke website. The organization is dedicated to connecting three veteran support organizations and the community, while promoting the value of military service and support.
This year’s event is being directed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10. Other groups helping and/or participating include Disabled American Veterans Chapter 17, American Legion Post 20, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Veterans Adaptive Motorcycle Program and Vietnam Veterans Association.
Information on joining any of the groups will also be available during the event.
