Opinion: He tells taxpayers "You're not able to speak at all," then tosses a pair out during a public meeting bloated with excuses for the county not releasing public records.
You would think Hoke County could afford more than one camera! There should be at least one (or two) covering the commissioners, at least one on the monitor, and keep the one on the audience.
I agree, but I wish they'd fix that audio first....it's terrible. The angle of the single camera doesn't even show the chairman, although if you watch it again you'll know what Hunt was having for breakfast.
Haha, very true! I emailed Ms Mcgougan (Clerk) about getting the microphone on the podium turned on and she forwarded my request to the tech guy. I can hear presentations now. They need to have an on/off switch for each of the Board, so we don’t have to hear the Commissioners clearing their throats throughout the meeting (or making snide comments to each other).
Meetings are first and third Mondays each month. The public can only speak (for 3 minutes) during the first of those meetings....they're the most entertaining. They take place downtown Raeford 227 N. Main street, and start at 7 p.m. Here's where you can find past agendas and links to videos of meetings if you're interested. https://hoke.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=1
Taxation without Representation!!
That's why the communist channel is interested in syndicating the series.
We can record the meetings ourselves. It's a 1st amendment right to record government officials in the course of their duties. Do they not allow it?
They do, but I didn't start this early in the year, unfortunately.

I'm telling you Ms. McGougan is a saint.....professional, courteous and we're blessed to have her working at the county.
